Brewed by monks during Lenten fasting, this rich, dark “double bock” came to be known as Brot des Lebens (Bread of Life) for its cheerful flavors of fresh bread, toffee, caramel and chocolate. So good it feels like cheating!
BREWER’S NOTES:
Like manna from above: a rich bready doppelbock with heavy aromas of toffee, nougat, marzipan, and milk chocolate. Tastes like a well darkened bread crust, caramel, toffee, and chocolate.
